A new study conducted by the National Center for Renewable Energy in the United States said that each square meter of solar panels generates 0.2 to 0.3 kW of energy, and each square meter of wind turbine will absorb 2-3kW. Meanwhile, each square meter of coastline receives up to 30kW of sea wave energy.

Energy is considered as an important input of the manufacturing and business sectors as well as plays an essential role in daily life and consumption. However, for many years, our economy has developed in a wide scale, a huge intensity of energy and the model of growth are based too much on exploiting resources, and backward technology has wasted much energy. This poses many challenges for national energy security in the process of socio-economic development.

In the mid and long term national strategy on energy security, it is necessary to solve a number of issues in a synchronous solution, especially in terms of environment, technology, mechanisms and policies in line with the plan that is the common view of many economists, managers, business representatives at the Vietnam Energy Forum: “Present and future" held by the Central Economic Commission, Ministry of Industry and Trade on 4th-5th April in Hanoi.

Vietnam's wind reserve is estimated at 513,360 MW, more than six times the total estimated capacity of the entire electricity sector by 2020 ....

The Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) has issued the Report on Global Status of Renewable Energy 2017 (GSR) which recorded the increase of renewable energy capacity with the low investment costs.

Recently, many enterprises have focused on investing largely in renewable energy with the capital of up to thousands of billion dongs. This is considered as an important solution when supply resources of fossil fuel is more and more expensive and exhausting.

The International Exposition on Technologies and Products for Energy saving and Environment protection in Hai Phong city in 2017(E&E Expo Hai Phong 2017) taking place from November 29th to December 2nd 2017 at Viet-Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Lach Tray Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City.

Vietnam is considered as a country with great potentials for renewable energy development but it is still in a potential form that has not yet been exploited

According to preliminary calculations, a coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 1,200 MW daily emits about 4,000 tons of fly-ash cinder, of which, there are 85% of fly-ash.

Vietnam would increase its attractiveness in foreign investment by developing green energy. That is the confirmation of many delegations attending the meeting on the free trade agreement between Europe and Vietnam organized by the European Business Association in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, in order to develop renewable energy for green growth, the government should support electricity price from renewable energy because of higher price than thermal electricity, and hydroelectric.

The recycling and reuse of waste resources are trends applied in many countries, contributing to environmental protection and resource savings. However, the recycling waste has not now been adequately paid attention.
